Cojiform for Conferences and Team Building

Cojiform events combine sculpture and photography activities to help groups connect with each other and with creative process.

Participants can de-stress and recharge, while gaining insights and skills applicable to problem solving in their own work.

What will we be doing?

Artist Isaac Bower (far left) developed Cojiform to share the flow, meaning, and creativity he finds within tactile art processes.

Cojiform events feature two main activities: sculpture and photography. Sculpture happens at tables where people build, stack, connect, and arrange the Cojiform parts. Participants can invent their own unique designs, or learn to build one of the many catalogued designs. Guidance and inspiration is provided by printed books, signage, event facilitators, or tutorial videos. Prompts, challenges, and themes can be customized in response to your goals.

Photography happens at stations that include backdrops and professional lighting (below). Participants can capture studio-quality photos of their sculpture work using their smartphone. It’s fun and surprising to see how changing the lighting and angle of shooting can affect the final image. Photos can be shared to Instagram, where Cojiform has a robust and global presence.

Team Building

Teams from any field can stretch and strengthen their creative muscles with these immersive activities from the world of fine art. Cojiform events can be self guided, fun, and playful: they can also be customized to address the specific needs and goals of your team. Or a bit of both!

Building with Cojiform allows teams to experience work habits from the field of art that can inform their own processes. Here’s an example:

A key habit of artists involves changing their perspective on their work. When a sculptor is carving or welding, they need to be physically close to their work. But they also need to regularly pause, back up, and assess the effects of their efforts from various distances and angles. When teams work with Cojiform, it’s easy to practice this skill: stand on a chair and look down from above, or take a photograph from a low angle.

When teams consider how they can shift perspective on their own work, important insights can emerge. Please email the studio to find out about how your team can experience Cojiform, with or without in-person facilitation from founder Isaac Bower.

Conferences and Events

Cojiform can be part of your event in a range of ways. Kits can be leased and set up with or without in-person facilitation from founder Isaac Bower. Installations can be scaled to fit your space and budget with signage and fixtures, video content, and a kit of the Cojiform sculpture parts.

Cojiform is highly adaptable, from customizable content to meet your group’s goals, to the ways end-users can engage. Participants can drop in for a short self-guided creative break, or be part of structured workshops and challenges. There are opportunities for both collaborative and solo engagement.

Creativity is often prized for its positive role in organizational growth, mental health, and problem solving. Yet people may have few opportunities to practice the mechanisms of creativity. Today, so much of our lives are spent on-screen: Cojiform offers the pleasure and flow of working with the hands to produce beauty and balance.
