Three S-forms and two manipulated L-forms, off-white. Cast in resin. Size: approx 10”x 6” x 4”, weight 10 oz. The five pieces here have been manipulated so as to be loosely but permanently bound to each other. This piece can be displayed in a range of ways. The individual forms show hollows, seam-lines, and process aberrations (see video below), as compared to typical Cojiform pieces which are highly refined and smooth.
The Cojiform system is comprised of 3 basic forms, called S, Y, and L. Each of these may be either off-white or pigmented, and each is sometimes manipulated. Manipulated Cojiform are removed from the mold before they are fully set and hand bent/twisted, resulting in unique variations to the forms.
Cojiform sculptures are tactile, hand held pieces that can interact with each other and with you, allowing for a range of display options. The pieces are equally satisfying to both the hand and the eye. Huggle 1 relates to the broader interactive approach to Cojiform, involving kits that deliver a creative sculpture experience to people of all ages in any setting. A large quantity of parts are cast for the Cojiform project. Some have flaws or damage, and these can be made into works like Huggle 1.
